    Objectives:

To further promote what our Great Outdoors has to offer in the way of recreational fishing and helping to teach others how to maintain our valuable resources for further generations. I have great joy in watching fishermen and especially younger ones who have never caught a fish before finally catching one! And to teach them to catch and release fish whenever feasible.

To accomplish my goals I have set for myself in reaching my highest potential as best fishing guide in our area and to branch out and to work with other top premier guides in other areas of our country and throughout the world. I currently have five other guides working with me.

Next, to help advertise and promote those companies which have worked closely with me to help make my business a success. I truly believe that fair is fair and that one good turn deserves another. Also to complete my goal of seeing my T.V. fishing show “Fishing’ Frenzy” aired regularly—a unique, one-of-a–kind family show!

My last objective listed is to continue my writing of newspaper columns on fishing.

    Qualifications:

    • Grew up fishing in Oregon since I was 3 years old and starting fishing over the bar since I was 5 years old. At age 58 still guiding.
    • Started guiding part-time for 3 years while I was working for the 1st Mercedes dealer in the country.
    • Then after those three years I went into guiding full time. Had both a drift boat and Jet boat.
    • Also at that time started working closely with the original owners of “Storm Lure Co.” John and Gary Storm. I was also on the Pro-Staff for other well known companies such as: Limaglass rods, Tempress Corp., Bottom Line, DuPont “Stren Fishing Line” and Quantum.
    • Prior to starting my fishing business I was involved with the association of Northwest Steelheaders Sandy River Chapter. After starting my guide business I was on the board of directors and then later president of the Estacada Chapter of the Northwest Steelheaders. Note: Ex-President Jimmy Carter was a member of our Chapter.
    • Then I started giving talks as guest speaker to several different organizations over the years. Received certificate of appreciation awards from the “Association of Northwest Steel headers” from the following chapters: Sandy River, Tigard, McLaughlin, Estacada, and Yamhill River.
    • Gave talks to Kiwanis Clubs and Multnomah Hunters and Anglers club.
    • Was asked to be at the very first international sportsman’s exhibition and to participate at both the show and fundraiser “General Chuck Eager” was guest speaker.
    • Have participated in several sportsman shows over the years.
    • I have written many fishing articles for several publications such as: Larry’s Outdoor Review owner of “Fishing the West” and Larry’s sports center. Number one rated fishing show in the country. Also for the Association of Northwest Steelheaders newspaper the Profile, The Mountain Mail and others.
    • Have had a guide business advertised in the Western Steelhead Fishing Guide with author Milt Keizer in Frank Amoto’s publication.
    • Fishing pictures in Fishing and Hunting News.
    • Have had featured sturgeon fishing article written up about me in The Herald of Provo, Utah.
    • Have been featured guest on T.V. and radio fishing shows and also KOIN T.V News.
    • Have won awards as Best Guide from the Association of Northwest Steelheaders.
    • Placed 4th out of 50 guides in the first Hawgs-‘N’-Dogs Salmon Enhancement Project in 2007.
    • Participated as guide in Willamette Salmon Quest.
    • I am sole producer of J & W Fox Productions T.V. Fishing Show “Fishing Frenzy” – only show of its kind. Fred Meyers and Kodak Co show interest.
    • Currently on the Pro-staff for BRP Evinrude E-Tec, Mack’s Lure Co., Northfork Composites, Gary Loomis, Gamakatsu, Quantum, Okuma, Fin-Nor, Suffix, Beckman’s, Zebco, Lindy Little Joe and Quick Cure.
    • I am also on the Field-staff program for Abu Garcia, Berkley, Penn, All-Star Rods, Shakespeare, Fenwick, Johnson, Mitchell, Phluger, Spiderwire and Sten.
    • Have also perfected a first, one-of-a-kind fishing product that works and caught much attention by many fishermen. It was the first ClackaCraft Drift Boat with a 50HP jet pump to get up on plane. With my product idea for catching salmon in 1½ minutes, Storm Lures designed the Magnum Hot & Tot, and my customers were the first to catch trout with the Storm Lure “Trout Pee Wee Wart,” another of my ideas. The first one we caught was 7½ pounds
    • I am a manufacturer’s rep for Panther Power Caps, Oregon Trail Seasonings, Quick Assembly and R&R Ventures. Note: Duckworth Boats wanted to give me one of their boats years ago to advertize for them.
